Lesson 1: The Bear Essentials

A while ago, a friend of mine wanted to get a speciality cake. However, she didn't simply want to order a cake, she wanted to come over and make it with me! So, we had a mini lesson of sorts, and she got to say she made an amazing present for her friend! She had these stuffed pandas/cushions that she wanted to replicate. Since we were short on time, I pre-baked and carved the cakes before she came over. Together, we covered and decorated them.

She was loads of fun to work with!

Carrera Convertible Cake

Last week, my boyfriend and I had a really fun cake to work on. The client wanted to surprise her husband on their wedding anniversary with a cake. She wanted the cake to be in the shape of a red Porsche carrera convertible, with them sitting in it. Carving the cake was the most important part, so naturally, I let the bf handle that! And while he was working, I managed to snap a few shots of the process!

She also didn't want him to know it was a cake right away. So, we wrapped it up with a big bow on top, as though it was just an ordinary gift. So when I delivered to him, he had no clue it was a cake :)

Just Because

Who says you need a special occasion to have cake?! Just a few weeks ago a sweet man contacted me asking me to make his wife a special cake. The occasion? Just because!  Well, he explained that his job requires him to be out of town pretty often, and while he was away, he wanted her to get a sweet surprise. So he contacted me a week before leaving, and scheduled a delivery to her office. How sweet is that!? Ladies, gentlemen aren't extinct just yet! ;)

She loves Gucci, pink, and like any other woman, shoes! So he asked for a replica of my Valentino shoe cake, just in pink. And as a cherry on top, the tag on the shoe reads "To my special one."
