This luggage cake was made for a surprise bon voyage party for Maxim, who's going on a pretty intense euro trip. I was given a nice long list of cities he'll be visiting, and I was asked to include a few of them as luggage stickers. He was visiting so many fun cities that I couldn't resist including as many of them as I could fit! Also, to stay within the theme, the inside was a cake version of the amazing Italian dessert, tiramisu! Delizioso!

Tiny Sugar Dancer
A little while ago, I was asked to make a cake for a girl's 21st birthday. She sent me a picture of herself in the dress she was going to wear for her party, and asked for a figurine of herself in a dancing position. I love replicating things in sugar, and people are always a great challenge! Here's one of the pictures she sent me.
And then... my sugar version!
It's a tiny, edible version of herself!

Little Mermaid Cake
It's that time of the year! When my niece's birthday comes around, and I get to go all out, push myself to the limit, and make something completely insane! Unfortunately, this post is not about that cake! That post will have to wait until I get a chance to sort through a whole bunch of pictures/videos...
Instead, here's the cake I made for her birthday party at her daycare. I was asked to make an Ariel cake, pretty simple, but still very cute!
I made an airbrushed sparkly-blue cake, with some royal icing waves, and of course a fondant figurine of Ariel.
